If you look at my wishlist, this bike ticks most of the boxes. In fact, apart from the weight, which is the same as my current ride, it covers everything. Why didn’t it surface in my original toplist?
It can only be bad marketing that kept me from seeing this because, after viewing most of the millions of minutes of YouTube videos on it, sitting on one and now being very close to buying one, it clearly fits the bill.
It’s got style too.
This is the fifth post in a series about the 10k tour in 2027 and it’s been 11 months since I first started planning. 11 months!
I can’t tell you how I found it but I believe it popped up on one of the classified apps I’m using to track down a suitable bike. Unlike a few other options that I keep skipping over (Ducati – too expensive. BMW F800 GS – I just can’t go there. ) this lingered for the few milliseconds longer that it takes to make a decision rather than have it doom-scroll away from you. It didn’t take long to catch on to its looks, the touring extras and the blend of classic and badly-needed cruise control.
So I’ve been looking ever since, and i’m now a short step away from agreeing a price on this, just 30 minutes from my home.
2022, 13000 km, perfect condition, good price.
Why haven’t I bought it?
Well, I’ll be riding to the UK on the VFR in a few days where my good friend with the big motorbike dealership has offered to try and tease me with a few bikes. The V-Strom DL 800 RE and the KLE 500 for a start.
Although…
I might just buy the Moto Guzzi V85TT before I leave!
